Lagos International Theatre Festival 2026 Showing This November

Oct 26, 2026

The Lagos International Theatre Festival (LITF) 2026 is scheduled for November 14 and 15 at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, featuring 20 stage plays, international performances and cultural activities celebrating theatre and creative expression.

The festival, themed “The Masks We Wear,” will showcase productions including Grip Am by Anthony Abolo, Behind Closed Doors by Bolanle Austin-Peters and tHERapy by Tosin Adeyemi. International practitioners from Brazil, Canada and Kenya, including Bel Souza, Lennette Randall and Nice Githinji, will also participate in the programme.

Founded by Bolanle Austin-Peters, LITF explores the different roles people play in their lives and encourages audiences to reflect on how those identities shape their experiences. Austin-Peters expressed hope that the performances would demonstrate that theatre is not limited to a building, but that “the stage is everywhere.”

The festival's activities begin on November 9 with Theatre Meets Food, hosted by Hilda Baci, followed by Embassy Nights on November 10 and 11, celebrating international cultural exchange among diplomatic representatives, artists and creative industry leaders.

November 12 will feature Conversations & Culture, with masterclasses and discussions on mental health and wellness, vocal performance, DJing, copyright and other issues affecting the creative industries. An Opening Night Gala is scheduled for November 13 ahead of the main performances.
