Register for the Coal City Film Festival Writers’ Workshop (Deadline: Mar 26, 2026)

Applications are open for a writers’ workshop facilitated by Ifeanyi Barbara Chidi at the Coal City Film Festival this March.

The festival celebrates African cinema in Enugu, bringing together local and international creatives to experience the region’s rich storytelling, film culture, and tourism appeal.

The workshop, themed Developing Local Stories for Global Appreciation, is organised in collaboration with Multichoice Talent Factory. It aims to equip writers with the skills to craft stories deeply rooted in local culture and resonate with global audiences.

Participants will also engage in conversations around the responsibility of shaping narratives that leave a lasting impact beyond the screen.

Chidi, founder of The Crazy Giggle Company, is known for her work on notable series such as Cheta M (2024), Diiche (2022), Riona (2020), Ajoche (2018), and Skinny Girl in Transit (2015).
