Casting Call: Don’t Grieve Film (Deadline: August 20, 2026)

Nigerian film and television director Reginald Jumbo has announced a casting call for his upcoming psychological thriller, Don’t Grieve, with opportunities available for both established actors and emerging talents.

Don’t Grieve follows Adia, a young woman who is sexually assaulted while celebrating her graduation. In the aftermath of the traumatic experience, she forms an unlikely friendship with Ire, setting the two on a dark path of retribution..

Available Roles

The production is seeking actors who can convincingly embody four key characters:

  • Adia – Female, 18–24: A young woman who expresses her emotions primarily through her eyes and requires an actor who can convey complex feelings without relying heavily on dialogue.

  • Ire – Female, 18–26: A charismatic character whose presence is significant to the story.

  • Officer Maryann – Female, 30–55: A character who goes against the norm and brings an unconventional presence to the story.

  • Hannah – Female, 30–55: Adia’s mother, a woman determined to rise to the top.

About the Director

Reginald Jumbo is a Nigerian film and television director known for thought-provoking short films, including The Interrogation of Lotanna (2024) and Full Circle (2022).

An alumnus of the EbonyLife Creative Academy, Jumbo has also gained recognition through his work on the festival circuit, building a reputation for stories that explore compelling and challenging themes.
