Witness Culture Unmasked at LITF 2025 in November

Oct 17, 2025

Lagos is about to Unmask Culture as the Lagos International Theatre Festival (LITF 2025) returns, bigger and bolder than ever. Shows begin on November 15 and 16 at the Muson Centre.

This year’s edition brings together groundbreaking stories and performances from Nigeria, South Africa, and the United States, celebrating the shared threads of creativity that connect these diverse cultures.

The festival officially kicks off on Thursday with “Conversation and Culture (CC Day)”, a workshop running from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.—a dynamic space for dialogue, learning, and artistic exchange.

Then, the weekend explodes with pure theatrical brilliance. Saturday and Sunday will be packed with back-to-back stage performances from some of the most visionary directors and playwrights across Africa. Expect captivating plays directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, Femi Branch, Bunmi Awolowo, Elvina Ibru, Keke Hammond, and more. One of the festival’s anticipated highlights is a dramatic retelling of Efunsetan Aniwura, directed by Opeyemi Afolabi, promising a powerful mix of history, emotion, and artistry.

This year’s LITF is more than a festival—it’s a cultural bridge, connecting audiences through shared narratives, music, and movement.
