Where's My Groom? Stage Play Showing in Lagos This July

Where's My Groom? is a stage play written and directed by Joy Isi Bewaji, coming to Lagos this July with a humorous yet thought-provoking exploration of love, relationships, and self-reflection.

The production stars Nene Aliemeke, known for her performances in The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi (2023) and Dead of Night (2024). Through a one-woman compelling performance, she brings to life the story of Gbemi, whose wedding takes an unexpected turn when her groom fails to show up.

Forced to confront the reality of the moment, Gbemi reflects on the choices and emotions that led her to the altar, questioning whether she had "love-bombed" her way into a relationship that was never meant to last. Blending humour with emotional honesty, the play examines modern romance, expectations, heartbreak, and personal growth.
