The Beginning Stage Play Showing in Ibadan This October

The Beginning is a stage play adapted and directed by Rufus Nwoko, known for other theatrical productions such as The Big Tree and Water.

It will be shown in Ibadan, Oyo State, this October as part of the Global Biennial Summit for African Art & Culture (GBSAAC 2026), organised by Anyen Iyak Foundation for Art and Culture.

The production forms part of the summit's exploration of a critical question facing the global cultural ecosystem: What risk do we run when recovering our past completely overshadows the work of building our future?
