An open casting call has been announced for an upcoming theatre production titled DEAR DAMI by Bolanle Austen-Peters' BAP Productions. The stage play is an intimate piece that explores desire, survival, and love through the life of a young woman as she navigates relationships, family pressure, and personal ambition.
If you have a passion for performance and believe you can authentically inhabit complex, emotionally rich characters, this is your chance to step into the spotlight.
Available Roles
Dami (Female, Mid-20s) – Lead Role
Seductive. Sharp. Vulnerable.
A university student surviving Lagos with her charm, beauty, and heart. This role requires a wide emotional range—sensuality, comedy, tenderness, and devastating heartbreak. Strong stage presence is essential.
Austin (Male, Late 20s)
Quiet confidence. Gentle strength.
A cooperative professional who offers patience, honesty, and emotional safety. This role prioritises restraint and emotional depth over bravado.
Mummy Dami (Female, Late 40s–Early 50s)
Sharp-tongued. Protective. Loving in her own way.
A traditional Nigerian mother who believes survival comes before romance. The actress must balance toughness with deep maternal love and nuance.
Moses (Male, Mid-20s)
Charming. Flashy. Unreliable.
A campus “fine boy” who takes more than he gives. Must have natural charisma—we need to understand why Dami loves him, despite everything.
Fisayo (Female, Early 20s)
Gentle. Observant. Emotionally grounded.
Dami’s younger sister and moral compass. The role calls for quiet strength, subtlety, and emotional intelligence.
